Since many years we organise and undertake mountain hikes up in the Chilean Andes.
The mountaineers are from all over the world and the adventure can be up to three weeks. In our daily lives it is quite easy for us to prepare a tasty meal without much of an effort, as we are spoilt by microwaves, refrigerator and electricity. Cooking at a high altitude is a whole different story, first of all one has to make sure not to carry too much weight up the mountains and secondly the boiling point is lower. As we do not want for your expedition in the Chilean Andes to end in a culinary disaster, we have come up with some alternatives to spaghetti and ready made soup.
