I risk saying that after many trips around the world Ivan Morales (and also Cristian Contreras) were probably the best team ever! Ivan is extremely knowledgeable and covers a whole variety of subjects (such as local flora and fauna, birds, culture, history…). In such a unique area as the Altiplano having Ivan around really helps you to get the best of your journey and to fully appreciate the region. Ivan is very friendly and helpful. He arranges everything and spoils you with wonderful picnic meals and stops in very nice and unique spots. Ivan picked us up at the Bolivian border and even helped us with the border crossing. He left us after checking in at the airport: he was helpful from the first to the last minute of our wonderful journey in northern Chile (PN Lauca, MN Salar Surire, PN Vulcán Isluga, Iquique region). We travelled a lot in Chile and that part of the country was absolutely magical. Thanks Ivan! We hope to come back someday! Joao&Sofia (Portugal)
I think, that some people are born with the hability to be a part of the surroundings... Being one of those, Ivan has even more accomplised to learn by doing and to give his knowledge to whomever might be interested. Because of his enthuciasme for any project he turns to, every little detail becomes interesting...
Ivan Morales was my guide during my 2003 trip to Lauca National Park. One of the things i appreciated about Ivan was his promptness. He and a driver, Christian, were to meet me at my hotel in Arica. Ivan arrived on time and also for other trips. He was dressed very appropriately and clean shaven. This made me comfortable especially since I was a woman traveling alone. Ivan spoke English which made communication easy. Ivan was courteous and helpful. When I was feeling the effects of altitude sickness, Ivan made sure I took it slow and easy. It has been nearly 6 years since my visit to Chile, but i have continued to stay in contact with Ivan just in case I should ever return back for another visit. Ivan will be my first choice as a registered guide.

Thanks to Ivan, we had a wonderful and unforgettable trip to Chile, one of those trip in which you decide you have to come back...sooner than later, possibly... He was patient answering our crazy questions, competent, becarful to our needs or curiosities during the whole trip. And even the kitchen part was special! Chile is a great country, but we thought it was important to visit it with the right eye. And Ivan has the right eye we needed and also the right head! Thank you. manuela
