Chile map for GPS

Santiago City Map and Guide

Third edition, january 2010: The compact, completely revised Santiago city map for visitors of the capital. The ContactChile team has created this handy pocket-sized map specially for foreigners. The map includes embassies, universities, supermarkets, shopping malls, swimming pools and sport clubs. Of course it contains the where-abouts of important tourist sites, the metro network and night life. Also in this edition: the main bike paths of Chile's capital.
On the back there is a brief city guide (in English) with information about tourist sites, cultural events, sports, shopping, eating and going out, transportation, general information about Santiago, safety and practical tips.

Valparaíso

First edition, october 2009: The compact Valparaiso city map for visitors of the port. Created by insiders and cartographers in a handy pocket size, with all tourist attractions, centers of students’ and night life, universities, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants.
On the back there is a brief city guide (in English) with information about cultural events, transportation, safety and practical tips. With detail maps of the historic center and the hills Bellavista and Florida plus a list of recommended hostels and tourist services.

Putre - Lauca

Published in november, 2008: The first professional map of the High Andes area in the extreme North of Chile, comprising the Putre area and Lauca National Park. Includes a register of regional tourism service providers, pictures of the most beautiful attractions and drawings of the local fauna. Information in three languages (English – German - Spanish).

Rapa Nui – Easter Island

1st edition, December 2009: The first travel map of Easter Island that includes all hiking and biking routes, obtained on site with GPS devices. The map shows all points if interest, paths and roads with distances, photos and drawings of local fauna.
On the back: detailed map of Hanga Roa village, with lodgings, restaurants and other tourist services. A special chart shows how the moai figures were carved, transported and installed.

Cape Froward

1st edition, November 2009: The first detailed map of the southern tip of the American continent with Peninsula Brunswick and Cabo Froward. A 3-day wilderness trek leads along the Magellan strait to the mythical Cape Froward, passing historic sites and ragged, unexplored landscapes. Melado Valley

Chile in 3D

As a vivid reminder of your Chile trip or as an original souvenir for your friends and family back home: Our postcard set „Chile in 3D“ shows some of Chile’s most beautiful places in three dimensions. The novel True 3D technique was developed by German cartographers and is capable to reproduce topographic features and height differences of the Andes in a stunningly vivid way.

Nevado Ojos del Salado

This first class map was developed by the Institute for Cartography at the University of Dresden. It shows the area around the Nevado Ojos del Salado, which is the highest volcano in the world at 6893 meters. Apart from the Ojos del Salado other mountains over five to six thousand metres are depicted on the map, including Wheelwright, Pircas de Indios, Peñas Blancas, Ermitaño, Laguna Verde, Mulas Muertas, El Muerto, El Fraile, Cazadero.
A bigger more detailed map shows the area around the peak of Ojos del Salado on the scale of 1:35,000. The map includes roads, access slopes, ascending and climbing routes, lodges etc.

Aconcagua, 1:100,000

New edition, 2008: Geo referenced map (WGS 84) of the whole Aconcagua National Park, from the Chile-Argentina mountain pass in the south to the summit Cerro de la Cerradura in the north. Includes hiking and climbing routes, lodgings and camps.
