Backpackers' Bus (6 days)

From our lodgings in Talca, the Casa Chueca, we are moving into the core of central Chile, which is still regarded as a secret hint for lovers of nature. Apart from hot springs, you will be pleased by impressive views of volcanoes, woods of Araucarias and national parks that have not been developed or exploited by tourists. During the six-day round trip, you will spend the nights in hostels or native huts with rooms for several people each.

Day 1: Shangri La
Transfer of about five hours from Talca to the bottom of the Chillán Volcano. In the afternoon you could have a short hike through the Shangri La Valley. Overnight lodging in a native hut.

Day 2: Hot Springs
An especially delightful hike over a pass of 2,000 meters, which leads to the Aguas Calientes hot springs. Bathing in the hot springs and return to the hut at the afternoon.

Day 3: Araucarias
The Araucanía Region, characterized by the Mapuche indians, is especially charming for its active volcanoes, parrots and the bizarre woods of araucaria tree. We will be taken to the core of the region to Curacautín. Lodging in the chummy atmosphere of a hut.

Day 4: Lonquimay Volcano
A day's hike leads us through woods of araucarias viewing the mighty volcano of Lonquimay. Return to our hut.

Day 5: Conguillío National Park
This national park is one of the most beautiful in the country. The best way to explore the spectacular scenery around the Conguillío Lake is on foot. Return to our hut.

Day 6: Panamericana Highway
Return trip along the Panamericana to our Casa Chueca in Talca for about 8 hours.

Service includes: all transfers, entrance fees, five stays overnight in rooms for several people with breakfast (double and single rooms possible for extra charge), tour guide.
